Hey Folks,

Here’s some of the social justice events  going on this week. 

Student Worker Alliance General Interest meeting

Wednesday, 9/12/2012 8:15pm, MGC 245

Did you know that our adjunct professors organized a union last year? Did you know that Aramark workers re-negotiated their contract with aramark over the summer? Did you know that students were integral in helping the shuttle bus drivers unionize in 2007?

There is a strong history of labor organizing here at American University. However, the university administration and the contractors on campus continually mistreat workers at our university.

If you ever wanted to get involved in creating change on our campus, this is the time! Come to a general interest meeting for the Student Worker Alliance on September 12th at 8PM, location TBA. Snacks will be served!

 

CASJ Social Justice Fair, Building the World We Want to See

Thursday, 9/13/2012, 11:00am, Main Quad

Come on down to CASJ's social justice fair on September 13 from 11-2 on the quad. It's a great way to get involved in the campus activism community!

Will periodically update the event with clubs involved and other surprises! Maybe we'll figure out how to have music! Maybe there will be candy! Maybe we'll get a bouncy castle!

First Black Student Alliance General Body Meeting

Come out to American University's Black Student Alliance's FIRST GENERAL BODY MEETING OF THE SEMESTER!!! Come meet the E-board members for this semester as well as old and new members!

We will be introducing ourselves and the organization as well as informing everyone about our upcoming events for the semester!!!

Of the students, by the students, for the students, The Coalition of AU Students is American University's student union. We are fighting for a tuition freeze and to get students a fair deal from the University administration

On September 16th we will be having our first student assembly of the 2012-2013 school year. We will be discussing our plans for the year and will be forming committees.
