Circle of Sisters: Dispelling Stereotypes in Communities of Color
Ward 202-8:15pm
In many ways mainstream feminism has failed to represent the experiences of women of color. Yet, our voices are an integral and necessary part in the struggle for women's empowerment.
+ What does feminism mean to you as a woman of color? Do you consider yourself a feminist?
+ What misrepresentations of your community do you find in popular culture and media?
+ What can we do to dispel these stereotypes on our campus and in our community?
Join the Multicultural & International Issues Department of Women’s Initiative as we uncover these questions with women of different races, ethnicities, and nationalities at AU. Because this is a discussion that will try to honor the experiences of women from a diverse set of communities, it's extremely important to us that everyone is represented! Your voice and representation at this event will be invaluable.
CAUS Casserole (NIght March)
During the student strike in Montreal, nighttime became a time for spontaneous displays of anger against the Charest government. Citizens of Montreal would flood the streets banging their pots and pans in a show of protest against among other issues the rising tuition fees for Quebec students. These protests became known as Casseroles.
On November 7th, let's CAUS some mischief. Bring pots and pans to the amphitheater at 10:45pm.
Not Your Average Sex Talk

We're proud to have Riana Buford from the Mautner Project coming in to talk about the resources available to us, and of course you'll get the chance to ask her questions.
