Subject: FUNDING OPPORTUNITY:
Wellbeing Services Grants information
Dear member,
Please find attached some information regarding the Wellbeing Services Grants (excerpt provided below.)
"As part of its commitment to developing effective prevention and early intervention services, Manchester City Council is providing additional investment in wellbeing services which provide practical, social and emotional support to adults within the City.
Following the successes of the Partnership for Older People Projects [POPP] programme both locally and nationally, and work done to evidence the effectiveness of locally based wellbeing services within neighbourhoods, we are replacing the Preventative Care Group Contracts with the Wellbeing Services Grant which is designed to:
* provide an additional investment in wellbeing services across the whole city,
* fund services in a transparent way based on a funding formula that balances investment in areas of greatest need,
* develop services in areas where they do not currently exist,
* encourage sustainable business models, which develop economies of scale through partnership arrangements,
* encourage the development of volunteering across the city, and
* focus on the provision of effective outcomes for those using services"
The deadline is 9th September 2010.
Kind regards
