MadLab has several digital creative workshops and events coming up for all ages

Starting tomorrow! Make Stuff's Community Hackathon: the Digital Art Edition

🗓 Wednesday and Thursday 22 May - 23 May
⌚ 10:00am - 4:00pm (both days, lunch included)

Unleash your creativity, collaborate with others, and push the boundaries of artistic expression through technology at MadLab's Community Hackathon. No coding experience required.

May Madness: creative tech workshops for half-term

Sonic Pixel Playground. Wednesday 29th May, Stockport Museum. 10:00-12:00 for 7+, 13:00-15:00 for 13+

Experience and re-create sound worlds using Sonic Pixels, from a dawn chorus of bird songs to a stadium cheering of a Wembley football final. Plus, learn about recording and editing your own sounds to be part of the Sonic Pixel orchestra.

Sounds in Nature: Build your own plant synth. Thursday 30th May at Stockport Museum.

Multiple slots, from 10am - sessions for children 7+, and for young teens and adults 12+ 

Did you know that plants conduct small amounts of electrical activity? We'll use that power to help you build your very own plant synth, and make music using conductive materials like moss, leaves, and water.

Light Painting. Thursday 30th May at Profolk Bank Chambers.

Multiple sessions, from 10am - sessions for children 7+, and for young teens and adults 14+ 

Lights, cameras, action! Discover the magic of long-exposure photography and ‘paint’ fantastical shapes and figures by capturing the movement of light sources in a dark environment. 

Stop-Motion Animation Workshop. Friday 31 May at Stockport Museum.

Multiple sessions, from 10am - Sessions for children 7+

Calling all budding animators: Unleash your creativity and create your own stop-motion animation! Learn to create puppets, props and backgrounds and bring them to life in a short digital film.
