Hello A-B Parents,
ABCHY & CAFY collaborated last spring to conduct a survey of Acton-Boxborough parents of teens. The survey focused on what parents are doing to promote the health and wellness of their teens and to reduce risky teen behavior. It also focused on the major concerns that parents have related to these topics and what they believe that parents, the schools, ABCHY and CAFY, and the community-at-large should do to help ensure the health and wellness of our teens. Three-hundred-and-thirty-eight parents of 6th-12th grade students completed the survey.
Last month we notified you that the summary report for the CAFY-ABCHY parent survey has been posted on the CAFY and ABCHY web sites. We also indicated that CAFY is going to sponsor an open parent meeting, which is now scheduled for Jan. 12 at 7 p.m. We have not selected a meeting room yet, because we aren't sure how many people to expect at the meeting. We will determine the meeting place by this Friday.
The parent meeting will allow parents to interact with one another and discuss the various themes that were identified by the survey. CAFY will also use this discussion to plan some initiatives designed to address the priority issues and concerns that are identified by the survey. We are also hoping that some of the people who attend this meeting might be interested in joining the CAFY Board.
We hope you can join us to review survey results and address topics including:
