Pollievre ought to stop trying the Trump playbook (even he should see how well that’s going).

I have long since been convinced - by design and/or by default - that PP is not 'in control' of PP.

The disputatious, fragmented, depressed 'conservative' communities are well-served by a person who has only ever been a federal politician......who 'grew up' in Calgary....and moved to Ottawa at the Millennium at age 21.

ps. Full disclosure: I am not/not a fan of the Liberals.

PP was originally from my riding of Carleton but Bruce Fanjoy beat him at the last federal election and PP then moved to Alberta.

I do want to add my voice to the hollow words of anyone talking about problems and solutions when they have no real life experience with the facts on the ground.    I like to compare it with people giving stock market investment advice when they have never participated in stock trading.    Credibility is a major issue even when I agree with their hollow arguments.

PP has never experienced the stress and excitement of being on the ground making personal decisions on what to do about climate change.   There are many options that stretch from eating less meat to taking your home off-grid.   In fact there is no barrier to executing many options simultaneously.   I personally try to do everything I can afford and often disregard ROI.   Affordability is the key to my decision making.  Investment payback is more in the resale value of the house that has three home batteries, two solar arrays, a ground source heat pump and accommodation for two electric vehicles.   Energy management software is included and directly integrated with the house.   It is already optimized so a new owner need not be an expert in this technology, just move in and collect the money from grid electricity sales.   There are financial benefits (non-taxable) by not buying grid electricity, collection and use of energy credits to simeshift daily and seasonally, and not buying natural gas or gasoline.   It costs me $zero/km to drive about and raise the one finger salute as I pass gasoline filling stations.   It costs me $0.00 to heat and cool my home all year.   PP could never state this sort of claim as he has no idea what it is like to not burn any fossil fuels as a chosen lifestyle.   This is a far too complex thought for PP but he talks about costs as if he knows what it means.   I can say this about any politician who has no direct experience in an "electrify everything" lifestyle.    However their behavior sounds like they invented the concept.    Living within an "electrify everything" energy island (a microgrid) is very satisfying and each month the capital expenditure loan is reduced.   In fact I converted my loan into a home mortgage and have a low five year fixed interest rate.   I make no steps to reduce this mortgage more than the normal buyback.   It is cheap money (not my money) and I can use the cash flow for better payback options.

For those interested, I have documented this process and it is available for download from https://canadiancor.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Project-Payback-v7.18.pptx

I am also available to give presentations on this topic.
