It appears that my current insurance (with Erie) does not cover fuel spills, which is surprising since I thought that was mandatory for yacht coverage. I'm probably opening a can of worms but am wondering which other companies cover fuel spills as well as usual liability and agreed value loss coverage for a late 90's 320 on the Chesapeake. Has anyone compiled a recent survey? I seem to recall a thread about this not too long ago.

Hi Scott - I went through this a few years ago and created a spreadsheet of
my findings. I am with Erie for home, auto and personal umbrella but stayed
with Geico/BoatUS due to the spill issue. At the time, Erie told me that
the decision on whether or not to cover a spill would be made at the time
of the claim. That was enough for me to stay with Geico. I will send you
the spreadsheet separately. - Allan

Allan, it's good to hear from you. I'm glad to see you are still lurking here.

Does Geico cover spills not associated with a collision or damage to the boat? That seems to be the sticking point with some policies. The most likely cause of fuel spill would be either a leaking tank plus active bilge pump, or an incident at the fuel dock.

BTW, Erie told me that fuel spills are not covered at all. I just spoke to Progressive who told me they cover spills but only associated with a claim for something else.
