Need Only USC

Position: Power BI/Report Developer

Duration: 3-6 months, can extend

Location: 300 E Devon Avenue, Bartlett IL (5x a week onsite)

 

Position Intel: Skillset deficit on team for project. Provide expert support in designing, developing, securing, and maintaining Power BI solutions within the Microsoft Government Community Cloud High (GCCH) environment, ensuring compliance with federal security, data handling, and governance requirements.

Skillset/Qualifications:

· Power BI

· Microsoft Power BI GCC High (Nice to Have)

· Understand differences between Commercial and GCC High Power BI capabilities

· Dashboard sharing without issuing user license in gov. cloud GCCH.

· Incremental Refresh configuration to archive previous and only refresh forecasted future dated data.

 

Discovery & Design

· Work collaboratively with IT BSA, Business Process Owners, and IT ERP Admin to gather business requirements and define KPIs

· Understand, identify, and review data sources and existing reports

· Confirm report layout, metrics, and acceptance criteria

 

Data Integration & Modeling

· Connect to approved data sources using GCCH Power BI Workspace and Share with users without Power BI license

· Transform and model data using Power Query and DAX

· Optimize data models for performance and usability

 

Report & Dashboard Development

· Develop Power BI reports and dashboards

· Implement filters, drilldowns, and interactivity

· Apply agreed branding and visualization standards

 

Security & Deployment

· Configure workspace access and Row-Level Security (RLS)

· Publish reports to Power BI Service (Dev/Test/Prod as applicable)

 

Testing & Knowledge Transfer

· Validate data accuracy and performance

· Support user acceptance testing (UAT)

· Provide basic user documentation and knowledge transfer

 

4. Deliverables

· Power BI datasets and reports (pbix)

· Published dashboards in Power BI Service and share with non-Power BI users in GCCH

· Documentation covering KPIs, data sources, and security

· Knowledge transfer, create work instructions and process workflows to retain methods used to overcome obstacles

 

5. Assumptions

· Client provides timely access to data, systems, and stakeholders

· Power BI licensing is in place for required admin users only

· Scope changes require written approval and may affect cost and timeline

 

6. Acceptance Criteria

· Deliverables aligned with approved requirements outlined in scope of service

· Data accuracy validated by client

· Reports successfully deployed and accessible to license Power BI users and shared in a readable dynamic form for non-Power BI users
