Job Title: SAP Instrument Planning Technician

Location: Sabine Pass, TX (Onsite, local candidates only)
Client: Golden Pass
Duration: Long-term contract

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP Instrument Planning Technician with at least 5 years of maintenance experience in oil & gas or petrochemical facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA, instrumentation, and maintenance planning. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance and reliability programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, cost control, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage maintenance and reliability programs for assigned assets.

  • Create and maintain project and outage plans using planning software (SAP, Prometheus, MS Project, Primavera P6, etc.).

  • Prioritize work for fast response, backlog maintenance, and cost control.

  • Prepare job packs with all required documentation, tools, and technical instructions.

  • Coordinate development of work orders and schedules with Operations and Maintenance teams.

  • Develop and maintain weekly, monthly, quarterly, and long-term (up to 4-year) schedules for expense and upgrade work.

  • Manage dispatching of work orders and ensure availability of client resources in collaboration with supervision.

  • Provide technical support within the CMMS (SAP S/4HANA) modules.

  • Ensure complete documentation and compliance for all work orders.

  • Identify material requirements, coordinate with vendors/supply chain, and manage procurement.

  • Support KPI development and generate reports on schedule compliance, deviations, and trends, including graphical analysis.

  • Assist in writing, reviewing, and updating maintenance procedures and documentation.

  • Provide input on budget development and recommend cost-saving measures.

  • Recommend and support training initiatives to improve work execution efficiency.

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to meet evolving business needs.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (Technical Degree preferred).

  • 5+ years of maintenance planning experience in oil & gas or petrochemical facilities.

  • Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA for planning, scheduling, and execution.

  • Knowledge of planning/scheduling software (Prometheus preferred; MS Project or Primavera P6 a plus).

  • Experience in scheduling small to medium-scale projects.

  • Familiarity with scaffolding, painting, insulating, welding, machining, rigging/lifting, and heavy equipment operations.

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience in PHMSA-regulated pipeline facilities and/or gas compression/metering equipment preferred.

Certifications & Licenses

  • Must hold or be able to obtain and maintain a valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card.

  • Must hold a valid state-issued driver’s license.
