Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Scrum Master to join our team. The Scrum Master will act as a facilitator for the Scrum team, ensuring the Scrum framework is adhered to and continuously improving processes to enhance team performance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban  and a passion for fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.


Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and facilitate Scrum events such as Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, refinement/backlog grooming sessions and Sprint Retrospectives, facilitate product increment planning activities
    • Ensure that Scrum events are productive and time-boxed.
    • Assist the team in understanding and adhering to Scrum practices.
    • Help the team stay focused on their goals, guiding them to self-organize and solve problems.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring teams reflect and adapt regularly.
    • Identify and remove obstacles that hinder the team’s progress.
    • Work closely with other stakeholders to resolve issues and provide the necessary support.
    • Act as a liaison between the Scrum team and the Product Owner, ensuring that there is clear communication about the product backlog and priorities.
    • Support the Product Owner in managing the product backlog, ensuring it is well-defined, prioritized, and ready for the team to work on.
    • Experience in preventing in sprint scope changes by collaboration with Product owners
    • Foster a collaborative and transparent environment that enables the team to work effectively.
    • Support the team in building and maintaining healthy relationships within and outside the team.
    • Promote and educate team members on Agile principles and practices, including Scrum, Kanban, and Lean principles.
    • Encourage a agile mindset across the organization.
    • Track team performance and Scrum metrics (e.g., velocity, burn-down charts) to identify areas for improvement.
    • Provide regular feedback and insights to the team and management.
    • Coach team members, stakeholders, and leaders on Agile methodologies.
    • Experience in collecting and reporting advanced scrum metrics
    • Mentor less experienced Scrum Masters and assist in training new team members.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or in an Agile-related role and overall IT experience of 10+ years
    • Proven experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and removing impediments
    • Experience working with cross-functional teams and leading change in an Agile environment.

 

  • Certifications:
    • Scrum Master Certification (CSM or similar) is highly desirable.
    • Additional Agile certifications (e.g., SAFe) is a plus.
    • PMP - desired
  • Skills:
    • Deep hands-on experience on Agile methodologies/scaled agile practices, particularly Scrum and Kanban
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop others.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
    • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and build relationships.
    • Ability to manage conflicts and remove barriers to team success.
    • Familiarity with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
    • Experience working with geographically distributed and remote teams in an offshore / onshore delivery model

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of other Agile frameworks and practices, such as Lean, pair programming etc
  • Understanding of software development practices (e.g., CI/CD, testing, etc.).
  • Experience working in BFSI Domain is a plus.
