Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Java Developer with a specialized focus on Reactive Programming to support enterprise-level financial applications at Fidelity. This role requires a developer who is proficient in Java 17+ and has deep hands-on experience building non-blocking, asynchronous microservices using Spring WebFlux. You will be responsible for the full software development lifecycle, from API contract design and data mapping to implementing highly scalable solutions with Spring Cloud and MongoDB. The ideal candidate is a technical leader who can optimize existing systems for high performance and provide mentorship to junior engineering staff.
Technical Core & Responsibilities
Reactive Microservices & Java
- WebFlux Implementation: Architect and develop high-performance REST APIs using Spring WebFlux for non-blocking stream processing.
- Modern Java: Utilize Java 17 (or higher) features to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Spring Ecosystem: Leverage Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring MVC to design and integrate distributed applications.
- Connectivity: Utilize Spring Integration to ensure seamless communication between disparate systems and platforms.
Data & Performance
- NoSQL Mastery: Design and optimize data models using MongoDB, ensuring high availability and scalability.
- System Optimization: Analyze and refactor existing systems to enhance security, scalability, and performance metrics.
- Full-Cycle Involvement: Assist in high-level tasks beyond development, including data mapping, API contract definition, and architectural design.
Leadership & Quality
- Code Excellence: Participate in and lead code reviews to maintain high coding standards and best practices.
- Testing & Debugging: Conduct rigorous testing and debugging to ensure the reliability of mission-critical financial applications.
- Technical Guidance: Foster innovation by providing support and technical mentorship to junior developers.
