I have just spoken to Arc Euro Trade and currently the tailstock
upgrade is not available separately. Shame, as I might have been
interested at the right price.

yes, its ok after a bit of fiddling about, but thats all part of the fun.the locking screw is underneath the tailstock, which is a bit of a pain, as you have to lift it off the bed to tighten the screw after any adjustment. I will post a picture later when I get home
Regards,
Nick

heres a photo of the underside of my tailstock, as you can see, the locking screw needs tightening with the tailstock lifted off the lathe bed. My example is about 12 months old, so the newer version may be different.

nick

I read your post, discussed the issues with the factory, and obtained
approval from David 1/2d (moderator) before making these comments:

1. If we decide to sell this as a spare, we would be targeting a
selling price of about £26.95 inc.VAT + £3.95 carriage to most U.K.
Mainland destinations.

2. Tailstocks at the budget end of the market, by their very nature
cannot be regarded as a "retofit". If you consider to buy this
product, you will probably need to scrape or shim the product, to deal
with alignment issues.

Could I ask how you and other members on this forum would react to
this?. This will help me to make a decision about stocking them.

Note for U.S.A. members of this forum: the packed weight of this item
is likely to be around 1kg - approx.2.2 lb. It may be available from
LMS soon, if they decide to stock it...unless they already do.

Hi Ketan,
I for one would be interested, if you do decide to stock the item
could you post a note on the forum when they are available.

Kind Regards Terry.

I've not found your picture yet, Nick, but if I do I'll add it into
this thread and onto this Page of prototype photos.
http://groups.google.com/group/C0-Lathe/web/prototype-adjustable-tailstock

I've had a play with an early one and have some suggestions that I'll
post on that page later.

Hi Guys

Did the adjustable tailstock upgrade ever turn up.
No sign of it on the website so do I assume not.

Yes it did rnthomp, but exclusive to the UK dealer who specified it:

Contact Arc Euro Trade for availability.

Be aware that it may need adjusting to suit your specific lathe.
The whole point of the attachment is to make that adjustment process easier than with a solid tailstock.
