I hadn't used my lathe for a couple of months and when I went to turn it on it wouldn't start. I made sure the chip shield was down and tried again, and it still wouldn't go. After fooling with it started and then when I turned it off it wouldn't start again.
Anyone had this trounle? Anyone have a solution? The lathe is fairly new and has not had a great deal of use.

Yep, I've got that exact thing. I am quite certain its the pot/switch
that causes this. I say this because once I get it to start, if I
don't click it all the way off when stopping, the thing will always
restart when I turn the pot up again. This can't be a safe way to
operate but its the only way it starts consistantly. I plan to take
it apart and see what part the pot/switch is so I can replace it with
something decent.
