[C0 Lathe] will it do the job? CO Lathe

hi all new to this group name is chris by the way
right down to the nitty gritty stuff looking at getting one of these before i do just a few questions
1. i am buying to make fishing pole float bodies made from balsa wood the way this is done is by using balsa dowel from 12mm-6mm thick and shaping it
first of all will i need to by a self centering chuck for the lathe to get the balsa running true?
2. how precise is the tail stock end when drilling into the balsa dead centre when it is running true
its a a pretty simple job to do just wondered if the lathe was precise amd up to doing a good job
