I think first you need to like games and get excited on it, second
read a lot of articles, turorials about it (you can use google fo find
more info, or use these sites, www.gamedev.net, www.gamasutra.org,
www.gamedev.lt and etc...)

Try google-->Game Programming

Do you know anything about programming, in what language.. well then do
a search in that language.

If u have anymore specific ideas please post, oh and tetris is NOT the
easiest game to begin with.. Snake is easier.

The reason for this is the rotation of the Blocks in tetris can get
quite tedious!

some games in C++ and perl and posted them on www.plentsourcecode.com
