Anguilla Show to be on DVD
March 13, 2007 8:48am Submitted by: phjim
The rumored DVD of the Anguilla show has been confirmed by Radio
Margaritaville: Jimmy is planning on doing a DVD of the Anguilla show.
This is a great opportunity for some face time on camera as there were
only 3 to 4 thousand tickets sold. He's planning on doing a deep
setlist reaching for some rarely performed songs.
Unfortunately the show will NOT be broadcast live on Radio
Margaritaville because of the remote location. Portions of the show
may be rebroadcast on Radio Margaritaville, or you will have to wait
until the DVD comes out (TBA).

Buffett Perfect for New State Song
March 9, 2007 6:41am Submitted by: phjim
The Orlando Sentinel has an article that endorses Buffett for the new
state song: "There's just one artist perfect for new state song"
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/columnists/orl-lritchie0907mar09,0,6475673.column?coll=orl-news-col
Buffett is the only artist in America who captures us -- or at least
what we want to be. His easygoing calypso rhythms infused with steel
drums and trumpet are the ticket to paradise. He throws in an
occasional country tune and mixes it all with sweet ballads.
However, Buffett sings one wistful ballad that would make a lovely
Florida state song. It's called "I Have Found Me a Home." Several
stanzas hearken back to what Florida was before the boom and the
tourists hit.

Interview with Jake Shimabukuro
March 5, 2007 6:22am Submitted by: phjim
Jeff Vrabel has posted an interview with the ukulele virtuoso to his
blog: "Jake Shimabukuro: The maestro"
http://www.jeffvrabel.com/2007/03/jake-shimabukuro-maestro.html
"I was scheduled to do a radio show in Waikiki, and apparently a few
hours before Jimmy was in. So when I walked in, the manager said,
'Hey, you're not gonna believe this, but Jimmy Buffett left a note for
you," Shimabukuro said.
The note asked Shimabukuro to not only come to Buffett's show in
Hawaii, but to sit in as well. "Soundcheck was the first time I met
him, and he explained what he wanted to do," Shimabukuro said. "I
guess he liked it, because he invited me to tour with him for the next
couple of years." Shimabukuro added that he'll appear with Buffett on
a handful of dates this year as well."
