2007 Tour Begins in Houston
April 22, 2007 6:31am Submitted by: phjim
The 2007 Bama Breeze Tour kicked off on Satuday night at the Minute
Maid Park in Houston, TX. Jimmy opened the show with "On The Road
Again", a cover of the song by Willie Nelson. Two other songs were
also performed live for the first time "Cinco de Mayo in Memphis" and
"Reggabilly Hill". Other surprises to the set list included "Ballad of
Spider John", "Northeast Texas Women", and "Tonight I Just Need My
Guitar".
The set list from the show is now available, along with comments from
those who listened to the show on Radio Margaritaville or SIRIUS
Satellite Radio. The last two songs "Tonight I Just Need My Guitar"
and "In My Room" were missing due to a local power loss backstage.
They are working on re-airing the lost songs in the near future.

Some people who attended the show have mentioned the t-shirts include
tour dates for Hollywood, CA and Honolulu, HI.
Michael Utley was not at the show because he was recovering from minor
surgery in Nashville. Mac McAnally filled in on keyboards. He is
expected to rejoin the band on Wednesday in Atlanta.
The opening act Robert Earl Keen played for about 30 minutes prior to
Jimmy taking the stage. REK is only scheduled to be the opening act
for the Houston show.

does keep a pig in Manhattan! When Rumpy, a pet potbelly pig, and her
human family move to the big city, she couldn't be more excited. Her
long lost twin brother moved to the city long ago and now she will
finally have the chance to find him. But when she finds herself locked

The Houston Chronicle has an article on the upcoming show: "Minute
Maid is ready for Parrotheads"
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/life/hoffman/4727969.html
Buffett will open his Bama Breeze '07 tour here Saturday night (April
21st). Minute Maid is the only baseball stadium on the itinerary. The
stage will be set in deep center field. Buffett will enter from the
right field gate and walk along the warning track to the stage.
Opening act Robert Earl Keen will play from 7:30 to 8 p.m. Buffett
will begin singing around 8:30 p.m. and play for two hours and 15
minutes without his usual intermission.
Alcohol, especially frozen margaritas and Buffett's own beer label,
Landshark Lager, will be sold.
Buffett, who has been rehearsing in Austin the past few weeks, is
expected to arrive in Houston for sound check Friday. He and his band
will use all the dressing rooms in Minute Maid except the Astros
clubhouse.
Stagehands and crew began erecting the stage the minute the Astros
finished sweeping the Marlins Tuesday night. The stage is so large
that the speaker towers are being built outside the ballpark on
Commerce.

Don Ho, Hawaiian Musician, Dies at 76
April 14, 2007 9:18pm Submitted by: Triathlete-Parakeet2
Hawaiian singer Don Ho died on Saturday of heart failure. Don Ho did
an introduction for Jimmy on the "Live in Hawaii" album.
>From the New York Times: Mr. Ho had achieved nationwide fame with
several successful albums and a hit single, "Tiny Bubbles." A full
decade before Jimmy Buffett's "Margaritaville," the song painted an
appealing portrait of tropical indulgence that cemented Mr. Ho's
character as an easygoing romantic rogue.
