Exciting things happening later this month, and into September, which I'm hoping you'll be able to join:
Saturday 26th August 2pm to 5pm is Friction Arts Yard talk.
Join us at the Edge, Cheapside, for a Wholesale Market focused yardtalk. There'll be food, stories and memories of our historic markets to share - in particular the Wholesale and the Sunday Car boot sale on the same premises. The market is due to be demolished in 2018.
Yard talk is a opportunity to see and hear some of the stories, artefacts, documents, photos that have become part of the project. Also there will be some special guests along with a unique experience and view of the market. We'd also appreciate if you can share some of your own experiences.
Tuesday 5th September 6 to 9pm is HeritageMeet.
People's Heritage Co-operative are working with Friction Arts at the Edge, Cheapside, to host a drop-in event primarily for heritage practitioners and those interested in events happening across Birmingham - It's the week before Heritage Week, so it's a great opportunity to share any event or project you have on with other heritage folk.
10th to 19th September is Heritage Week Birmingham. #bheritageweek
There'll be plenty going on this week, and I hope you can share events etc. via email before, and support our local Heritage during the week.
Please keep posting your updates, sending me your blogs and generally keep in touch.
Best wishes
Marcus Belben
Project Manager, Wholesale Market
