Bristol 40-39 forum:
Good day all I’m reaching out to this group because I’m in a situation where I have to part with my Bristol 40. Cancer has got a hold on me, so the boat has to enjoy a new owner. It has been posted on various online forums without any serious buyers.
If you know of someone that would be interested to become owner of a Bristol 40, please forward this email.
My name is Henning Christensen, I have had this Bristol for 8 years. During those years, I had prepared the boat for an Atlantic crossing. In the same period I have had 3 turns at the hospital and now I realize that it is time to “give away” this lovely vessel. Asking $20K.
The Ted Hood designed Bristol 40, 1980 is available in Ft Lauderdale, FL. The vessel is Coast Guard documented with Florida registration. The dock can not be transferred to a new owner. There are live aboard slips in the “Isle of Venice area”.
She has a full keel and sloop rig. Many recent upgrades have been completed by current owner who is a retired marine engineer. Extensive inventory and thoughtful upgrades.
Survey valuation dated November 2025: $40,000.
Geico insurance will accept the survey with new owner until May the 6, 2026.
