The "vague" questioner. They call you. You feel it coming. You
answer your phone and greet them, they jump right to their question,
which is likely to be the vaguest question on earth......

"Tell me about my love life?"

First of all, I post, right on my website, that I do not do General
Readings! This is a General Love Reading. This is tough.

It's a new client so I say, may I have your name please? Name given.
Ok, now "Would you like an individual person looked at or just a
general spread?" General Spread.

(Now remember, I don't do generals!) Ok, so I throw the cards and with
a vague question you get a vague answer........Face cards are their so
you use the textbook stereotypical answers, assigning astrological
attributes to the cards at hand as best you can, try to get a feel for
the atmosphere, but it's rough.

You come up with an answer that goes something like this: "I do see a
gentleman here who is not unfamiliar to you, it seems like there is a
great distance between you emotionally and physically, contact does
look like it is going to happen, however, it will be brief, there are a
lot of obstacles". This is your God's honest best interpretation of
the cards.

Seeker says "Well, we were lovers in college and I still love him. He
is married with 2 kids and lives on the west coast, I am on the east
coast, but I still love him and I wonder if he is going to come back to
me......it's been 20 years, we are having a class reunion in six months
and I was thinking maybe we could get back together and fall in love
all over again that night."

Ok, first of all, the QUESTION ASKED should have been: "I have not
seen my college sweetheart in 20 years, last I heard he was married
with 2 kids. We have a reunion this fall, do you think that there is
any potential there?"

Okay, you would receive the same cards, but the interpretation would be
entirely different......You would get that he has fond memories of her.
Wonders what became of her. Would feel warm and nostaligic to see her
at the reunion, probably chit chat and have a drink, promise to keep in
touch, but then drift apart again.

Or she could of asked, is he still married? You could get an accurate
read on that.

But these vague questions cannot be answered in any specific manner.

To get an accurate reading, you need a specific question, not a "test
the psychic" question.

And by the way, I am not, nor have I ever claimed to be psychic. I am
a Professional Card Reader. I interpret the cards that I throw for
you......yes I am very intuitive, but do not claim to be anything other
than an intuitive and empathic reader!!!

Ha, talk about attracting negative energy! Maybe I shouldn't have
posted the above scenario as I got one of those first time callers
today! It's so hard when they are so vague!

My site says "NO GENERAL READINGS FOR FIRST TIME CALLERS" in bold,
italicized letters, and wouldn't you know it......I pick up on this new
client today and she says:

"I'd like a reading"

Me: Can I have your name please?

Name Given

What would you like me to read for you?

Answer: Love Life.

Okie Dokie, here we go.......

I find this thread, along with the one about timing to be extremely
interesting.
I believe that the worst thing a caller says is that I want a general
reading.
What I recommend is to get them to ask a specific question. Do not
take a defensive mode sounding arguementive that you do not work
"general readings"

I find that by turning their question for a "general reading" into
something specifc
to work with, it puts you both at ease, to go right into the flow of
the Psychic and/or
Tarot reading. (Or whatever your work mode is)

I practiced this for some time with some friends, and now I do not have
to
worry about the "general" reading questions after the introduction.

UGH!!! Just got off a 4 minute call with a new customer.

First question, asks if she would be happier going back to ex or moving
forward. Cards actually show happiness with returning to ex.

Next question "Will I be happier with him than with anyone else"
AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! How many human beings are there on
the face of the earth????? But quick, quick, quick, one minute
remaining!!!

How the f*** can you answer a question like that. My answer was "you
look like you can find happiness with him, I do see real love between
you". Ouch! (the cards were positive, but you can't answer a question
like that!

Next question........"Now about my job, will I make more money soon?"
Did look like increase by end of Dec.

Next question.........Am I going to get married soon?

DOUBLE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! WHAT THE F***, not even in
a freaking relationship and your asking me when you are getting
married!!!!!!!!!

Come on! I hate these vague, unrealistic questions, these are the same
people who end up in the "psychic junkie" category bitching that we
don't help them. No background information, just these vague questions
out there in cyberspace, not attempt to connect with us first, just
asking us to magically divine their answers.

THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS PEOPLE!!!! These are tarot cards, they need to
be interpretted against SOME criteria due to the complexity and of the
meanings!!!!!!!!!

FOUR MINUTES AND YOU WANT ME TO TELL YOU EXACTLY HOW YOUR LOVE LIFE IS
GOING TO GO AND HOW YOUR JOB IS GOING TO GO AND WHETHER OR NOT YOU WILL
POOP AT PRECISELY 8 A.M. TOMORROW!!???
