Closures, Change of Venues, and New Games.

Hello All,

 

        Many new changes are coming up.  Please visit our website for current changes.  July is wham packed with special events and new game opportunities.  I didn’t take the time to congratulate the many Bridge21 players who did well in Kingston.  Congratulations are in order for many of them, taking several top places in many events. 

 

        First on the list.

Sunday June 22 ONLY, Pineview will not be hosting a game.  Games will resume next week, even though I will be in Fredericton.

 

        Second on our list. 

I have heard from many players over the past, “Why should I pat for the pros?” or similar lines.  Bridge21 is giving back to the novice players as follow.

 

                On Tuesday nights, Thursday afternoons, Friday afternoons, Sunday afternoons, at Pineview Golf Course, players with less than 50 masterpoints will play for free all month long.  That’s right absolutely no fee to play at a Pineview Golf Course game.  You will play in a game against your peers, you need not worry about being thrown to the wolves.

 

                On Wednesday afternoons at Carlton Heights Community Center on Apeldoorn Crescent, we will also host this novice game.  That’s right players with less than 50 MP will play for free.

 

        Third on the list.

                Want to just play bridge for fun.  Bridge 21 has club games in Manotick that are social and fun to be at.  Hosted on Tuesday and Friday afternoons.

 

        Fourth on the list.

                This is a big one. Tired of those expensive games on BBO.  Clubs cannot even compete anymore so you cannot even support your local clubs.  Well, Bridge21 is working on an alternative that will allow players to play for $1 online in an unsanctioned event.  These games will consist of twenty boards and start at 12:45 and 16:00.  Its unclear as to when this will commence.  Bridge21 is committed to fair play and will donate part of the revenue generated to clubs that are still struggling.

 

        Fifth on our list.

                July will be a full month of special events.  All games will have increased masterpoint awards

                Check the website for a couple of Bar-b-que events.  Three of them to look forward to.

 

        Sixth on the list

                I’ve been asked by a number of players to put on morning games.  I can certainly understand the need to have the remainder of your day after bridge to contemplate what you should have done.

                We will add a Thursday morning game at Pineview.  Starting in July. Game will start at 9:15 with expectations to be finished by 12:00.  As this game is at Pineview it will also follow the free game trend for novice players playing in the novice game.

 

        Seventh on the List
                Three special event games will be held on BBO.  They are Pairs games not team games so they should get better traction.  These games include an NABC fundraiser and 2 North American Pairs.  See  the events tab on our website for specifics

 

 

        The Road to Fredericton

                Gord Fazil will be directing on Tuesday the 24^th of June and Sunday the 29^th of June

                Gerry Simoneau will be directing on Thursday the 26^th and Friday the 27^th
                Adrian is working in Arnprior on Monday the 23^rd
                Mark is working in Kanata on Monday the 23^rd
                Pandora will work in Kanata on 26^th and Arnprior on the 27^th

 

        Anyone wishing to travel to Fredericton in the convoy are welcome to meet us at Bayshore Shopping mall at 7:45AM on the 24^th.  Please call me to let me know you are part of the group.
