Sixth International Basil Bernstein Symposium, with free Workshop
30 June - 3rd July 2010, Griffith University’s South Bank Campus, Brisbane.

The next Bernstein Symposium will be held in a charming location in the beautiful country of Australia.  The symposium aims to encourage informed dialogue between scholars from around the world undertaking work that engages with Bernstein’s sociology of education in the broadest sense and from a variety of angles and traditions.

We are very pleased to be able to announce that our opening speaker is Professor Ruqaiya Hasan (Emeritus Professor of Linguistics, Macquarie University).

We are running a free workshop for postgraduate students and interested scholars on the first day.  This is free with registration to the conference (200 AUD for students; 250 AUD for full).

If you have not already done so, please register soon.

More information about registration and accommodation can be found at the Symposium website: http://www.griffith.edu.au/conference/bernstein-symposium-2010
