I think the concept was first introduced in Bourdieu's classic on the
Algerian Kabyles in his Theory of Practice(1977).
I always found Bourdieu's notion of hexis inspiring, being engaged in
the empirical study of habitus transformations myself.
For this reason, I would like to extend Erik's query to ask if anyone is
familiar with studies in sociology, cultural anthropology, dance
ethnography/dance studies or any other field of motion analysis that
explore gendered/cultural/subcultural movement patterns in greater
detail, ideally using visual analysis.
