CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS—ANOTHER COUNTRY PRODUCTIONS

 

ANOTHER COUNTRY PRODUCTIONS IS ACTIVELY SOLICITING PLAYS FOR THREE UPCOMING EVENTS:

 

SLAMBOSTON, Diverse Voices in Theatre

Boston’s 10 minute play slam

Boston Playwrights can submit plays, no longer than 12 pages, to slamb...@gmail.com.  The next reading period begin in mid-July.  Deadline, July 15.  (The winning play wins a monetary prize.)

 

SLAMS FOR SCHOOLS

SLAMBoston has been adapted to take to school programs where students direct, act and run the slam.  Plays with high school age characters are best.  Playwrights should submit plays, no longer than 12 pages, to slams4...@gmail.com.  All playwrights included will be paid $50 per slam.  This event will happen April 6, 2011.  Deadline for submissions is 10/1/10.

 

ONE ACT FESTIVAL

A One Act Festival that will feature three plays, each 25-35 minutes long, scheduled for January of 2011.  Submit plays, 20-30 pages, to slamb...@gmail.com by 10/1/10.  We are particularly interested in plays about people of color and gays and lesbians (or multicultural plays with mixed ethnicities).

 

We always seeking a truly diverse mix of plays (comedy and serio-comedy is good for slams, though we consider all kinds of plays, including experimental work) and seek to support writers of color, the disabled, gays and lesbians and women!!!!!

I have a question – do the playwrights have to provide actors, or is it literally submission of the play only. Also, technically I live in western Mass, though was in the greater Boston area for decades.
