I'm at the high point (Crest Ave.) of Winthrop Beach looking out at a Northern Gannet when a flock of Manx Shearwater fly right by my binocular view! Wow. This was at 4:30 or so. And just prior to this, I had been admiring a Horned Grebe in full breeding plumage. I did A LOT of birding yesterday. I covered Belle Isle Marsh in its entirety, Winthrop Greenway, Belle Isle Cemetery, Fort Heath Park, Winthrop Beach down to the five sisters, and Lewis Lake.
