Compare the characters of Uriah Heep and Mr Micawber.

Dickens seems to have the same opinion of them as David has. What is
this opinion?

What does it tell us about Dickens' thoughts about money and success?

Yvonne,
I saw by your profile, that you had read Anne Frank's Diary. you maybe
interested in reading Corrie Ten Bloom's book.. "The hiding Place" is
her story of how she hid Jews during WWII. She & her sister were
imprisoned because of this, She survived, her, sister did not. She also
wrote "Amazing Love' and "defeated enemies". I have not read these as
yet.
She was an heroic women, she went against even her minister's advice to
not get involved with the conflict between the German's and the Jews.
Could we be as brave?

Dickens is too dark for me.
I'm reading a murder mystery right now. It's rather gory and I'm
sorry i started it, but it does have a love story in it also so I'll
stick it out.
Thanks for asking me to join you all. i still have a few books i
received as christmas gifts to get through.
i have been reading all the comments, seems like you all are enjoying
reading it together.

In his book, Dickens talks a lot about money and success. Like Uriah
and Mr. Micawber demonstrate in 'David Copperfield', these are
things that people can win and lose easily. Dickens created all the
type of characters. Uriah Heep seems to be one of the bad characters.
He is devious, jealous and dishonest. Behaving badly towards the other
people he tries to go up on life and David knows it, so he doesn't
like him. However, David likes Mr. Micawber. He behaved badly
sometimes, but he is a good person. He owes people money because people
owe him and he can't manage his money. So, he's poor, but a honest
man.
