Book Synopsis:

Hawk, an Army Special Forces assassin, spent six years in Vietnam
before retiring in 1973. He is haunted by nightmares of all the men

of mountain land, he sets out to spend the rest of his life in complete

solitude. In 1983, after ten years of almost total seclusion, Hawk has
started to get lonely. Most people in the area see him as some sort of
crazed maniac, but for Kate Saunders, a local newspaper reporter, Hawk
is a career-boosting story. Dinh Ca Sen watched Hawk kill his father,
and vowed to avenge his death. Now he is old enough to
launch his plans for retribution.
