Mike,
I must admit I'm still a bit concerned. I have thousands of bookmarks
as well and though I use my bookmarks religiously for my self - I must
admit that my bookmarks are an invaluable resource to many students,
faculty, and others who are aware of them. I've started to receive
complaints from students that they no longer can access these
resources. I also encourage students to create their own online
bookmarking accounts because of how useful it is - and through this
upgrade I have quite a few that are frustrated. A handful have already
switched to delicious, despite the fact that you guys will likely be
finished with this upgrade in the next week or two.
Also, I'm curious when we should anticipate "blazing fast" - I know
you guys are still upgrading but I have noticed still some pretty long
wait times just for my bookmarks - where only just over 400 are
showing. I'm unsure if it's struggling loading the interface or if
it's due to the upgrade still being in progress.
Obviously the biggest concern is all of our bookmarks - and a close
second is the long term stability of blinklist. I realize this is a
huge project for you guys and there's lots of data to transfer but my
concern is that in another two years there'll be another upgrade where
we're frustrated with the "experience".
Please accept my apologies if I seem to be complaining too much -
however, I think the word for all of us who have been quite faithful
to blinklist right now is that we are concerned and still waiting for
that reassurance we feel we've been promised for months now. I look
forward to seeing the new blinklist in action and hope that it's as
impressive as my first experiences with blinklist.
