IBM publica en el área de Research el IBM Systems Journal (el cual es
gratis en su formato electrónico). Encontré un numero interesante
respecto al tema de Bioinformatica y deseo compartirlo con ustedes.

Advances in information technology systems and applications are
rapidly changing medical research and clinical practice in a variety
of ways, including accelerating the process of drug discovery and
testing, facilitating the collection of statistics for research, and
facilitating personalized treatment based on a patient's history and
genetic data. This issue contains 12 papers describing health-care
technology interoperability and standards, advances in imaging and
telemedicine, clinical decision-support systems, and other emerging
technologies.

Casi se me olvidaba, IBM Research tiene un programa PhD Fellowship,
se abre el concurso el proximo 22 de Septiembre hasta el 31 de octubre
para el periodo del 2009.

The IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Awards is an intensely competitive program
which honors exceptional Ph.D. students in many academic disciplines
and areas of study, for example: computer science and engineering,
electrical and mechanical engineering , physical sciences (including
chemistry, material sciences, and physics), mathematical sciences
(including optimization), business sciences (including financial
services, communication, and learning/knowledge), and service
sciences, management, and engineering. Additionally, IBM pays special
attention to an array of focus areas of interest to IBM and
fundamental to innovation.
