Hi Dr. Laffan,

I have imported a tree and CSV file into Biodiverse, with FID as the grid identifier and the Species columns. After performing the analysis (Analysis > Clustering > Phylogenetic Turnover > Jaccard Dissimilarity), I observed the following issue:

In one window, I see the tree, but in the other window, it remains empty. It seems like the clustering of grids based on the tree is not being displayed. Could you please assist me in resolving this issue?

Thank you for your help!

Hello Shahab,

Which version of Biodiverse are you using?

In any case, I suspect it is due to the way you imported the data.

I am assuming your CSV has a unique FID per row.  If this is not the case then can you please provide more details?

If you specified the FID column as a text axis then each row in the CSV will be its own group, containing only one taxon (label).  This has its own problems but that can be addressed once we have worked out the plotting issue.

Text groups are plotted as a grid using the sorted order of the axes.  If there is only one axis then there is a single row of cells plotted.  In version 4.99_002 and earlier these are at the top of the map panel.  If there are many cells then they are likely very small and will only be seen when zoomed in.  (A future version will likely plot things more effectively).

If you imported the data with a cell size of 1 and a single group axis then the same plotting issue will occur.

Note that if you are using the latest development release (4.99_010) then you can press the + or  = key to zoom in on the centre of the panel the mouse is hovering over.  That should zoom in on the cells until they are visible.

Regards,
Shawn.
