Mig-6 gene loss and osteoarthritis

In a news study published in the journal PNAS, researchers found
evidence that loss of mitogen-inducible gene 6 (Mig-6) in mice by
homologous recombination results in early onset of degenerative joint
disease, also known as osteoarthritis, suggesting that this gene or its
pathway is important in normal joint maintenance.
