Position Purpose: |
|
|
To provide bioinformatics and analytical support to CEMP’s scientific projects. Responsible for activities and processes including analysis, implementation, maintenance, support and execution of informatics initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities: |
|
|
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: - Planning and execution of collaborative projects with leading academic and/or research groups. - Lead internal/external bioinformatics analyst’s teams. Interact with project teams and provide expertise in bioinformatics. - To ensure informatics systems operations including, software operation such as laboratory inventory management systems, electronic laboratory notebooks systems and bioinformatics tools. - Assist CEMP’s researchers to design and perform research activities related to bioinformatics; to interpret and challenge experimental results for specific projects. - Interact with project teams and provide expertise in bioinformatics. Lead internal/external bioinformatics analyst’s teams. - Write internal and external reports and contribute to publications. - Responsible for ensuring that CEMP bioinformatics analyses are conducted in a proper and timely matter. - Design, develop and implement bioinformatics analyses, applications, and workflows to expand genomics and bioinformatics capabilities - Integrate statistical analysis to project design and data interpretations. - Maintain and improve back-end of local server-based genomic interpretation system. - Manipulate publicly accessible, commercial, or proprietary genomic, clinical-related databases. - Improve user interfaces of bioinformatics software and databases.

|
- Proven problem-solving skills, collaborative nature and adaptability across disciplines. - Outstanding written and oral communication and interpersonal skills - Fluency in English language - High level of self-motivation and ability to thrive in a goal and fully committed to achieve timelines. - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. - Good analytical and organizational with a keen attention to details. - Experience in cancer genomics and bioinformatics and/or clinical studies and epidemiology. - High programming proficiency in R, Python, Java, or Perl. - Knowledge of key biological processes and NGS technology. - Concrete bioinformatics skills in analysis of data from various omics platforms. - Experience in NGS data analysis and applying statistical approaches to NGS data interpretation - Proved experience leading a bioinformatics team is mandatory. - Experience in relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and interface (web frontend) development. - Strong background in software and OS on Linux system |

Qualifications |
|
- Engineer in Bioinformatics or a related field. - 3-5 years of experience in cancer genomics and bioinformatics and data analysis of "NGS " and other omics platforms. - 3-5 years of relevant project coordination experience preferred. - Experience in clinical studies or epidemiology |
