Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day Returns
Mountain Biking Non‐Profit Hosts Free Event for Kids of All Ages
Remember the first time you rolled away from your mom or dad and found the freedom of two‐wheeled motion? Okay, maybe not. But, on October 3rd, you can relive that experience by joining kids from across the Fort Collins area at national Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day.
Hosted by Overland Mountain Bike Club, the Fort Collins area non‐profit devoted to promoting mountain biking through education and advocacy, Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day will see 100 kids ranging from toddlers to high school kids hit the trails at Lory State Park for a morning of guided rides, skills park fun, and lessons on trail etiquette and safety.
And once again this year, one lucky child will roll away from the day on a brand new bike donated by Recycled Cycles. An essay contest with the question, ‘If you could go anywhere on your bike, where would it be?’, will determine the winner of the new bike. Other area bike shops have also donated raffle prizes to put smiles on the faces of other children.
Parents and guardians who are interested in registering their child for this event should visit the Overland Mountain Bike Club website at www.overlandmtb.org. Registration is capped at 100 participants and must be done online. Volunteers to help lead rides, take pictures, and help with set up are also needed for this event. Please visit the Overland website to register and or email questions.
