Okay ... not my life, actually. Not yet, anyhow! The subject of this
msg is a documentary by that title (
http://www.paulgoodmanfilm.com/).
Paul Goodman was a political pundit in NYC and in the early 60's he
wrote an essay arguing for the banning of automobiles from Manhattan.
While there are still automobiles being driven in most of the world's
cities today, many world-class cities are taking steps to increase and
enhance non-motorized transportation - programs like the Fort Collins
Bicycle library! So this guy was def. ahead of his time.
There's more ...
The producers of the film have set up a contest! Participants just
have to come up with "five ideas that could be implemented in your
area to promote forms of transportation that reduce global warming,"
to be proposed to your city mayor of city council. The winner gets a
new bicycle from Breezer Bikes! The contest ends October 31, so hurry
up! You can use the link above to learn more about the movie and how
to submit your ideas.
Does this movie interest you? Should we try to get it for a screening
in the Fort? Let us know! Maybe a Bike-in Movie night? or a special
evening at the Rio?
