Extreme Rain, hail pound Colorado*
DENVER (AP) — Heavy rain and hail pummeled the Front Range of the
Rockies on Tuesday, and a tornado watch was issued for much of northeast
Colorado.
Grape-sized hail was reported in part of Denver, and a layer of hail
fell noisily on parts of downtown by midday.
Spotters with Colorado State University's Community Collaborative Rain,
Hail and Snow Network reported minor flooding in Larimer, Boulder and
Jefferson counties.
The storm front was moving south, and National Weather Service
forecasters in Pueblo said they expected severe thunderstorms capable of
producing tornadoes.
