Living Amidst the Prophetic Landscape*

There is no doubt, spring is here in Wyoming. For one thing, the cold
and snow is gone from the lower plains. That is with the exception of
Spring storms, which we have been known to get. Some of the biggest
blizzards I have been in, have been in spring. Summer is coming but many
around here are thinking it is slow. The winds also have died down a
bit, but in reality, the season for no wind is usually several months
long in the summer. For now, though, unsettled weather has been hitting
us. Today we are seeing rain, sleet, and snow. It is a little colder.
The Photo above is Casper Mountain, some 9500 feet in the air and still
has snow on it. Not as much as the rockies, which with other parts of
Wyoming mountains have seen over 600 inches of snow. The most snow in 24
years or so the record keepers tell me.
As we have been getting record snow, the nation has again been hit with
tough weather as well. Today the news is reporting fires in Florida, the
result of the last system which went through several southern states
including Ok and Texas. It was there that 20 plus people died from
tornadoes. The system caused tremendous damage. This was just another
storm this year with such impact. Over the weekend some 60 tornadoes
were counted. We also saw a small spiral tornado, but it touched down
and left quickly, no damage. Wyoming see's very little of this kind of
weather. We have seen many devastating weather patterns in the last 10
years. From Katrina to the many tornado, rain, floods, and other drought
related patterns, the nation is itself weathering the storm. As we move
to summer of 2008, the weather is still one of the main headlines. There
has also been extensive earthquake reports along the western coast of
America. From Mexico, San Diego up to Alaska, with Seattle seeing a
myriad of such occurrences. No doubt, we are living in the last days.
The shaking continues to date with many international troubles and
hotspots going on as I write this. The tens of thousands of dead and one
million homeless in Myanamar is a tragedy. But we will continue to see
such activity and destruction. The bible is clear that we are in the
time of shaking.
These verses speak to men when the LORD God moves to judge the nations
and the men in them!
Isaiah 2:17 "And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the
haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be
exalted in that day. 18 And the idols he shall utterly abolish. 19 And
they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the
earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he
ariseth to shake terribly the earth. 20 In that day a man shall cast his
idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for
himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats; 21 To go into the
clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of
the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake
terribly the earth. Haggai 2:6 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet
once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth,
and the sea, and the dry land; Haggai 2:7 And I will shake all nations,
and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house
with glory, saith the LORD of hosts. Isaiah relates that the natural
will get so bad, the earth will seem to be utterly broken, moved
exceedingly, and clean dissolveed, reeling like a drunk to and fro.
Isaiah 24:19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean
dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. 20 The earth shall reel to
and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the
transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not
rise again. 21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD
shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings
of the earth upon the earth. 22 And they shall be gathered together, as
prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison,
and after many days shall they be visited. 23 Then the moon shall be
confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in
mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously."
It is will be a time which will bring Fear into the hearts of people, so
much so, their hearts will literally 'fail them' for the fear such
natural occurences bring.....Luke 21:25 "And there shall be signs in the
sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of
nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men's hearts
failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are
coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken."
Now as people of God, serving the Lord with fear, knowing Him, we have,
therefore, nothing to fear. We live in the World, but are not of the
world. We are the disciples of the LORD and with his love in us, will be
Salt and LIGHT in these last days. As John says below, "our love is made
perfect", for we can "have boldness in the day of judgment", why?
Because "as he is so are we in this world". We are in the world but not
of it. We do not sow to the 'lusts of the flesh, but to the spirit.'
Therefore, as we follow him, with his love in us, this love will cast
out all fear. Fear as torment as John says. But the Love God has put in
us helps us to understand what is coming and why! Therefore, we should
not be in fear, but faith, not in heartache but in having our trust in
the LORD and his faithfulness.
1 John 4:17 "Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness
in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 1
John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear:
because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love."
As we walk the path of the Last days, let us consider the LORD faithful
to us in all he says. Let us be Salt and LIGHT as I have mentioned
before. For the days we are in will bring opportunities for us to share
the LOVE of God and the gift of the "only begotten of the Father" our
Lord Jesus Christ. Who can be the Savior of men now, but coming one day,
he will be their judge. So be sure you are taking time to pray, seek the
LORD, fast, and witness to those around you. As the days become more
filled with troubles, shaking, and end time prophetic fulfillment, let
us bring to those in darkness, the Word of Truth. For men will refuse
the Word of Truth and will be sent a blinding error which they will
follow. "God will sent them a delusion so strong, they will believe a lie"
2 Thessalonians 2:9 "Even him, whose coming is after the working of
Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all
deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they
received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for
this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe
a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but
had pleasure in unrighteousness."
Today, I do look forward to summer in Hopes to enjoy the LORD's Great
gift of natural wonders we still have here. One day it will be all gone,
then in the renewal, all things will be made new again. But for now,
there are many things to enjoy and be thankful for. In your daily life,
it is good to "give thanks to the LORD". Be ye thankful. This photo is
of one of our many friends who live around us. This one was eating lunch
when I snapped a picture. This was in very early Spring. A time when the
squirrels go out on the end of the branches and eat what they find.
Tender bark, nibs of the ends of the small limbs, bread on the ground,
or whatever they can rummage.
I have snapped many pictures of the Sun, from early morning to late
evening. Many times the sky is so painted and gorgeous, I know the LORD
is on the other side using his paintbrush. There is no doubt, all the
world, the sky, the universe, all of it, 'truly declares the Glory of God.'
So, today, I remind you of what is coming, but also right now, "be ye
thankful."
