A DOG has been found skinned and beheaded, with its paws cut off and
legs bound together in Brisbane's south.
The find is the latest in a string of recent animal sacrifice and
Satanic cruelty cases in the state's southeast.
The RSPCA said an 11-year-old boy made the latest gruesome discovery
next to the St Lawrence's playing fields in Runcorn yesterday afternoon.
RSPCA inspector Sommer Heath said the boy's mother reported that the
male dog appeared to have been skinned and decapitated.
Its legs had been wired together and the paws cut off.
"The council have already removed and disposed of the body, so we have
very little to go on and we are unable to conduct an autopsy, so any
information would be helpful," Ms Heath said.
It was believed the animal was a medium to large cross breed.
RSPCA Queensland spokesman Michael Beatty said three people had reported
the incident, but inspectors had not been able to examine the dog before
it was taken away.
The incident follows a number of disturbing satanic style animal cruelty
cases in southeast Queensland in the past three months.
Two weeks ago, a female Rottweiler cross was found lying beside the
D'Aguilar Highway near Woodford with a broken leg and fractured pelvis.
The dog was believed to have been sexually assaulted.
Last month, a woman on the Gold Coast found her cat partially skinned.
It was alive but had to be euthanased.
Two properties have also been raided and more than 120 dogs seized.
Mr Beatty said there were clear links between Satanism, animal cruelty
and other forms of violence and assault.
"I don't think anyone would like the type of person who does this to an
animal living next door to them or their children," he said.
