*Severe thunderstorms to hit Australia*

THE Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe thunderstorms warning for
parts of Queensland including Redcliffe and Caboolture.
The thunderstorms are moving towards the east and forecast to affect
Beerwah, Peachester and Landsborough by 6:45 pm and Caloundra by 7:15 pm.
Damaging winds and large hailstones are likely.
A 100 km/hr wind gust was reported within Moreton Bay at Inner Beacon at
6:12pm.
The Emergency Management Queensland advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
