A LARGE earthquake struck off the coast of the remote Pacific island
nation of Vanuatu yesterday, geologists said, but there were no
immediate reports of any casualties or damage.

The 6.4 magnitude quake struck at 10:02pm local time (9.02pm AEST) 135km
south of Isangel, in Vanuatu, at a depth of 10km.

No tsunami warning was immediately issued.
