Quake Hits San Francisco Bay Area*

GLEN ELLEN, Calif. (AP) - A magnitude 4.4 earthquake shook the San
Francisco Bay area Wednesday night, but no injuries or damage were
immediately reported.

The quake struck just after 8 p.m. in Sonoma County, about 42 miles
northwest of San Francisco, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

No one was hurt and there were no initial damage reports, according to a
Sonoma County sheriff's dispatcher.
