Picnic with Nepali children, wonderfull experience.

Dear friends:

It has been long time since we have communicated.

Yesterday Sunday Aug 8Th we did a quick picnic/boating with about 40 children age from 1 year to 15 years with some adults.

It was very pleasant , as we had good time, we sang lot of songs on the boat. It was Winton Woods.

Savitra told me that many families are coming to Cincinnati next months. We need every ones help. Please stay in touch with your contact families, meet them and give them your support.

Cincinnati will get total 2000 people in next 3-4 years.

Collect food/winter clothes/household stuff and furniture.

Thanks, lets all meet at Hindu Awareness Day  on July 25 at Hindu Mandir and Dashara festival with our Nepali brothers and sisters.

Thanks so much for coordinating this.  I heard the kids had a great time and really enjoyed themselves. 

 

Thanks to the all of the families that have been instrumental in helping the Bhutanese community up to this time.  Our refugees have had tremendous success integrating into the American lifestyle.  This isn't true for all of the cities.  Cint has been recognized as being one of the best cities due to the support that the refugees are receiving from local people upon arriving.

 

We continue to need volunteers willing to visit or sponsor a family.  The new refugees arriving have disabilities and aren't as advanced as the first arrivals.  In order to get them employed and able to support themselves they need a tremendous amount of time, one on one guidance and encouragement.  If you would like to host a family or visit one on a regular basis, please contact Amsu (513-652-3946) or myself (513-225-0661) and we will provide you the information.  Remember the key to success for them is the encouragement they get in the first six months after arrival.  Our initial arrivals, who received this support, are buying houses, attending colleges and working and volunteering within their communities.  We'd like to continue this success.
