Bhutanese - Feb 9 Update

Hello Everyone, it has been a long time since I wrote to you all.

Things are progressing at a steady pace. Of 102 that are here, 38 are
working and 12 are looking for jobs. I think there was one or two more
job offers today that are not captured here. Everyone that needs to be
in school are also in school and progressing.

Since December influx, we have had only 3 new arrival in this new
year, but this may be the calm before the storm. The new arrival are
staying with Bharati family.

Housing: Carol Berning has purchased a house that is currently going
through some renovation, which she will allow for the Bhutani family
to use as temporary house (when they first arrive) free of charge.
Diane Norris also purchased a house to rent to Bhutani family at
cost.

Donations: We will be using a 3 car garage located in 175 North Bend
to store all donated items. We currently have plenty of clothing,
plates and cups, blankets.
We are looking for furniture, beds, mattresses, lamps and Bikes.

Host Families: Bhutani's are having a real good experience with host
family interactions. So Thank you to all of you.
(Renu: please check the list to make sure that I have right name with
right families and who is missing from the list. Also, Dhaurali family
and Bastola family (Woodsdale Road) needs someone assigned. I have
also created a page in Excel "Host Family Expectation" that you can
use with new host family volunteer).

Bhutani Voluteer Group: Bhutanis have started to get organized to help
each other and new arrivals. They have divided the responsibilities
among them selves so that when new family arrive, every topic that new
family needs to know is being shared by one of the member of this
group. VERY EXCITING.
