'moderated' flag that was set on your subscriptions to
sv...@lists.svlug.org . That flag is now gone. (I actually removed it
from John's a week or so ago, and meant to do both of them and get back
to you. Sorry about that; I've been busy.)

disagree with me about what's offtopic. If you feel like complaining to
the core volunteers about my actions or those of any other listadmin,
_this_ mailing list (volun...@lists.svlug.org) is always available to
reach the core volunteers, is completely open to _any_ non-spam posting,
and is publicly archived. Likewise, any time *I* carry out an action as
listadmin, I cc this mailing list, so there's a public record. All
enforcement and policy discussion is public; no exceptions.[1]
So, if you two have a problem with being reined in on using
sv...@lists.svlug.org to lecture the membership about political issues,
go right ahead and bitch about it. You're welcome to try to convince
folks, but, e.g., I'm pretty sure Yudhvir, Lisa Corsetti, Margaret
Wendall, Paul Cubbage, and Marc Merlin at minimum are grateful that I
stepped in, because they said so already.
And I will continue to step in any time there are major eruptions of
off-topic spew on http://lists.svlug.org/lists/listinfo/svlug . That
having been said, please do resume posting on that mailing list, as you
are every bit as welcome as any other SVLUG member.

Both of you clowns were put on moderated status on the
sv...@lists.svlug.org mailing list (the only one you abused) for a brief
time in reaction to your having triggered a major eruption of offtopic
spew -- exactly as documented in the posted rules.
I documented in public when I was doing this on behalf of SVLUG's active
volunteers -- who unanimously approved of my doing so -- and I
again documented in public when I removed that sanction. If you were to
misbehave again, I or one of the other listadmins would probably take
similar measures, likewise documented in public.
Enforcement of the rules exactly as posted, everything in public, no
backroom bullshit. And you were also reminded that you were welcome to
protest to the other active volunteers if you think I erred. Neither of
you so much as said 'boo', presumably because you know that _all_ of
SVLUG's leadership would tell you to fsck off, and that I'd done exactly
the right thing.
Fortunately for you, you are absolutely free to misbehave on your own
Internet forums (well, not yours, exactly, but the ones you outsource to
Google) as often and as furiously as you wish, and *I*, for one, wish
you would do so a lot more often. It's really very entertaining.
