Kato Davits

Is there a member who has a set of Kati Island Davits.

If someone could do me a favour and supply three measurements for me I would greatly appreciative

I ordered a set of Kato davits several years (16 to be exact) ago for my 36 CC. Exactly what measurements are you looking for? As I remember, there were two measurements I had to make, one dependent upon the model one is planning to attach them to -the first being for the transom support railings (attached to the stern then to the stern pulpit , the second was for the support between the davits which was dependent upon the size of the inflatable one carries.) If you let me know what general measurements

I have Kato Davits as well.

Call them!

They will tell you what measurements are needed. It differs per boat model (swim platforms etc).

 

The one ‘option’ on the davits, is to go with the upgraded pulley…you should do it. It makes lifting easier by far.

I would like to know the distance on the larger tube at both the top and bottom where the smaller tube welds to upper tube. 

Also the distance between the large tube and the small tube at the arm pit.

I’ll try to get the measurements tomorrow after the front passes by (boat is on a mooring and I have the inflatable on shore due to the wind predictions.

Hello Fletch,

If looking at Kato, you might also want to look at davits from Stainless Still Outfitters in Barrie. Similar design and likely at lower cost. See: https://stainlessoutfitters.com/products/marine/sailboat-davit-systems/

I purchased a Hand iLift from them a couple of years ago for lifting my outboard and have been very pleased with the quality.

They are definitely cheaper however they use 304 stainless and it doesn’t stand up well in the Florida / Bahamas. 

They are built with 16 gauge material. The other thing is for some reason they just aren’t as good looking. 

I have done a fair of business with John and Andrew over the past 20 years. 

They are good folks.

Went out to the boat this afternoon and got some measurements, likely many more than you requested. The three that you requested are A (4 7/8 inches from outmost edge of the weld to the end), F (6 ½ inches from the bottom weld to the lower edge of the weld on the support tube and 5 ¼ inches at the bend. There are two small cleats welded on the top tube, roughly four inches from the outmost weld on the larger tube where the two are joined by the 5 ¼ inch support.

are the measurements on the four support tubes between the upper and the lower tube measured from the inside of both tubes, i.e. the distance between the tubes? That would the length of the support tube at the bottom of the milled out radius.

Measurements were made from the inner most portion of the upper tube to the upper most portion of the lower tube at the welds, so that the numbers supplied reflect the distance between the tubes. Sorry for the delay in response but out internet service has just become very spotty at best
