standing rigging for Beneteau 40

Greetings Beneteau Folk - looking to upgrade standing rigging for downwind sailing. Wondering what others have done - either solent or inner forestay. If solent, did that move the center of gravity too far from midship and if the latter how was the inner forestay mounted and reinforced? I was told by a rigger that adding an inner forestay would necessitate running backstays but I have not seen that thers have done this. Thanks for sharing your experience and expertise, in advance.
