Thanks again to Jenn Tadder and Kulshan Brewing for hosting us this month! There were no formal activities this meeting, but another great turnout despite the chilly temperatures. A few standouts from an array of great homebrew shared, there was not one but two fantastic dark milds, a very nice "juicy" modern pale ale, a tasty Brett beer, and an 11 year old Old Ale.
To recap some meeting announcements in case you weren't there:
- We had a great club turnout at Larabee Lager two weeks ago to drink many half liters of Atomic Dog Spring Lager. This was a collaboration beer with Best of the Bay winner Tom Weichert, who also joined us for his first club meeting tonight! Keep drinking more of it so they'll continue to want to do collaborations with us!
- The International Women's Day celebration and collab beer release that Amy participated in at Stones Throw last Sunday sounds like it was a big hit.
- The club will be brewing another collab at Stones Throw Sunday 3/15 for Bellingham Beer Week. The plan is a Berliner Weisse with Philly Sour yeast. Everyone's welcome to participate!
- Next month will be a club comp again, with "American" as the style, ales or lagers. No bonus points for "wheat wine", but there should be.
- Best of the Bay planning is underway. We could always use more volunteers to help. Get in touch with Joe or Neal if you're interested in being involved, and look for an announcement soon about a planning meeting.
- There will be ANOTHER collab beer release soon, tentatively March 26. For finishing second at Best of the Bay, Todd Q recently brewed at Beach Cat, and we'll have a release party at Beach Cat South Paw.
