At the 2024 Into the Forest closing concert, 25 ringers were engaged in the performance of The Journey to acknowledge Louise Frier as the first bell tree composer. Griffins Hornpipe (Wisssinger) was also performed by 9 ringers. Additionally, the beginning bell tree class also expressed a desire to perform in the concert resulting in 14 bell trees playing Kum Ba Yah (Brocker). Several of these people had 1-90 days of bell tree experience.
This led to wishes for a piece incorporating new and experienced ringers in a “forest” of bell trees. We are raising money to commission Kathleen Wissinger to write such a piece. The thought is that it would become the theme piece for Into the Forest closing concerts with as many participants as possible. It will also be available to ring in other performance settings wishing to feature bell trees.
