Hello. First, I would like to thank everyone who came out to the
March 24th Ecovillage meeting! Over 17 people came and there was an
incredible multimedia presentation from the EcoCity group! (By the
way, we placed Susan Davenport (from Olympia Ecovillage), Evan (from
the Ecocity group) on 'manager' status on our Announcement Only Email
list found here http://groups.google.com/group/Beetalliance ...
...so you may receive messages from them soon as well. Chriset
Palenshus ( from the Evergreen College Center for Community-Based
Learning and Action) also gave an awesome presentation as well as
Jesse with Camp Quixote during the March meeting! Thank you
everyone! Details for the next Ecovillage meeting in May are here:
http://www.weinviteyou.org
Several people stayed behind until 9pm and we had conversations and
delicious homemade Salsa (thanks J-Mar!) and hummus (thanks Chriset, I
still have your bowl *happy laughter*) for several hours and some
expressed they wanted to talk longer with more questions so we are
making the May meeting 3 hours, but no one has to stay that long!
*happy laughter*
Second, I would like to invite anyone who may be interested to
volunteer in the planning of the International Love, Imagine, Network,
and Kindness (LINK) Symposium. (Please understand that LINK is
separate from Ecovillage meetings, but LINK shares the same values of
creating a better world). We especially need immediate help with
fundraising because some portions of the event must be paid far in
advance.
L.I.N.K. 2007 is a permaculture, peak oil, healthcare design and
multicultural community conference that offers experienced instructors
and workshops from all over the world and also offers participants
hands-on instruction in an enjoyable learning environment. LINK
strives to create a multicultural, community inclusive event and
welcome everyone to our public planning meetings for the LINK
Symposium. The Symposium, which will occur in September and October
2007, will include Millersylvania Park Environmental Learning Center
access, room, board, computer use, all workshops, study materials,
resource binders, a CD with seminar materials, curricula, workshop
tours (to places such as GRuB) and more.
Speakers so far include Mike Pelly, the president of Olympia Green
Fuels (visit our website to hear the National Public Radio Interview),
Dr. Bonnie Gifford and Fraanc Gifford of the Gesundheit Institute in
West Virginia (as featured in the movie 'Patch Adams' with Robin
Williams), Chriset Palenshus (Evergreen College Center for Community-
Based Learning and Action), Alvina Wong (Evergreen College Independent
Media Group) T (from the Olympia Ecovillage; A World Beyond Capitalism
Conference; Free of Kings Conference; SURGE Film Festival), -Evan
Schoepke - (Raccoon Collective, Eco City Olympia), a tour of Garden
Raised Bounty (GruB), and many more. Visit our website http://www.blueskylink.org

Every one who attends at least 5 workshops at LINK receives a
certificate thus we will also accept proposals form potential
presenters at the Planning meeting which occurs through April and May.
Look for more information about LINK and Design for a Loving Future
Conferences in newspapers and current issues of Communities Magazine
and Permaculture Activist magazine.

If I don't answer any emails sent to me right away I apologize. I'll
be in Pullman, Washington at the Northwest Progressive Conference (a
free event), http://www.wsuprogressive.com ) sharing a couple of
workshops. If anyone is interested in those, the descriptions are
below. I'll be back on Sunday in time for some Synergy Workshops
(which are free) and we (many Olympia Ecovillage members) greatly
encourage people to attend those:
Keep up the great work everyone! You are the reason WE WILL have an
ecovillage in Olympia that welcomes people of all races, social
classes and backgrounds!
