It’s that time again! 2020–2021 Officer/Captain Nominations are upon us. Due to the COVID Pandemic, nominations will be handled via email and our private Facebook page.
NOMINATIONS BEGIN NOW

– You have 2 DAYS to nominate and second another’s nomination
– Nominated party has 1 DAY to respond
– Once nominations are collected, I will post/email a link for voting
VOTING BEGINS FRIDAY

– VOTING ELIGIBILITY:
• Must be a current player from at least last year’s roster
• If an Old Boy or member of club staff, you must have been an active participant in club activities in the past calendar year
Below you will find the Officer/Captain positions in which you can nominate yourself or a fellow Barbarian.
President
Mark Anthony
Come to all necessary board meetings, take minutes at meetings, represent the club at social gatherings, recruitment events, or after match socials, Help lead the club to glory.
Vice President
Randal McWhirter (Current Officer)
Field accommodations/set up, assist president in enforcing roles and implementation of new protocols and help guide players to resources for the club, help board members with their specific roles if requested or voluntold.
Treasurer
Joe Mitchell (Current Officer)
Take control of club finances, help coaches/board members keep track of dues, sponsorship contributions, and club expenses. Assist in setting prices for social wear, shirts, shorts, jerseys, and make decisions with club in mind for expenditures for the club. Will be responsible for taxes, and documentation relating to club expenses, both minuscule and major.
Match Secretary
Matt Haney (Current Officer)
Stay in contact with other teams pertaining to upcoming matches, work with President in setting the schedule for upcoming season including black out dates, scheduling matrix and friendly matches. Is main contact for other teams for match-day accommodations both home and away.
Recruitment
Phil Munn (Current Officer)
Setting up events and chances to get the Barbos gospel of rugby out to the masses. Oversees events where Barbos are to be present to try to entice people to come to practice. Helping with getting new players adjusted to practices and introducing players to the rest of the team so they can feel welcome every time they come to practice.
Sponsorship
Open Position (Hats off to Mikyle, fantastic job)
Looks for companies and individuals to help sponsor the team for jerseys, trips, match day socials, special event donations, and yearly events. has a direct hand in helping the club stay afloat. consults with Treasurer about donations or agreed sponsorships and payments. Direct contact for all sponsors.
Social
Spencer Cote (Current Officer)
Schedules and books socials for match days, parties, and social gatherings out and about. Works directly with Match Secretary, Sponsorship, Recruitment and Treasury chairs to address needs for match day and major events such as Christmas/EOY parties and gatherings. Helps to gather rates on food, accommodation rental, and expected attendance. Responsible for getting word out about events and promoting upcoming events.
Player Development
Nick Naum (Current Officer)
Direct development of D4 team to help keep an active team on roster and help provide opportunities for gameplay and on-field development. Has a direct hand, when available, with helping brand new players with catching up to speed with rules, guides to drills, and insight to the game. Has responsibilities outside of practice to provide feedback about D4 and all new players to coaches and help make decisions on D4 selection.

Captain
Josh Shiosaky (Current Captain)
Leader on the field and at practice. Motivator and student of the game with a high caliber knack for ability and understanding of the rules and proper expressive and non violent and irrational confrontational skills with players, coaches, and officials. Will need to be at most of every game unless otherwise noted. Voted to lead the team into battle, pick us up after defeat and praise the team after a victory. Must represent the team and its spirit with unbridled attitude and conviction for accomplishing the goals set forth by coaches and help exceed player expectations. Will be responsible for helping pick teams for all matches.
Vice Captain
Dean Kelsey (Current Vice Captain)
Main supporter of the captain and helps to push the team in the way the coaches and captain have agreed to pursue for individual games, practices and events. Should the captain go down, this person is who to look to for inspiration and a positive attitude to help the team toward our goals. Has the same qualities as the captain and should be treated as such in any situations. Main supporter of the players on the field and a vocal part of the players perspective on and off the field. Will be responsible for helping pick teams for all matches.
