Hello,
I am Abdullah Al Tarique,  had came in Boston, this Sept. 2007, now working in Mass. Gen. Hospital (main campus) as a Research Fellow. I came to know about you from Khaleda Haider, who is also working in MGH. Can I be a member of your orgaization (permanently/temporary)? I will be happy if I can attend BANE organized variuos programs/cultural programs. Can you please add me in your member list so that I can get informed about BANE programs? If I have to be a member, please let me what I need to do? I will be very happy to join in BANE and meet some Bangladeshi people.
Thank you.
Abdullah Al Tarique.

Dear Dr. Tarique,

Your spontaneous interest in Bangladesh Association
in New England deserves to be appreciated. This is
possibly a very good example, as to how we should
take our own initiative in becoming a part of the
community; without blaming silence of the other
parties. It is really nice to see the step taken.

Hope, BANE executives would get back to you soon,
with a welcoming response.

Salam-Shuvechya.

Assalamualikum Br. Abdullah,

My name is Sajjat Hussoin.  I am one of the executives of Bangladesh Islamic Society of New England (BISNE).  It is a fairly old organization, established in 1990.  Its main purpose is to propagate Islam among people specially Bangladeshis living in New England area.  We also have many projects in Bangladesh in the rural areas.  We try our best to help our motherland on a constant basis. It may be helpful to let you know that we are not affiliated or linked to any political party or organization.

Alahamdulillah we have many activities and we are adding more.
Some of them are:

1. Monthly Dawa program on 3rd or 4th Saturday of each month.  We pray Maghrib/Isha prayer depending on the month, provide dinner followed by a talk by an Islamic scholar.

2. Iftar party in Ramadan.

3. Eid reunion.

4. Islamic summer outing for the whole family for a weekend week after 4th July.

InsAllah our next program is on Saturday, 5th January in Sharon. It is in Islamic Center of New England.  Roughly 500 people show up.  It will be an excellent opportunity for you to meet many Bangladeshis.

The address is:

The Islamic Center of New England
74 Chase Drive
Sharon, MA 02067

If you would like to have more information about us, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Salam,

Sajjat

Dear Mawdud Bhai,
I am really glad to hear from you. and thanks for welcome me. Let's introduce myself. I have completed my graduation and MSc in Biochemistry (MSc session 1999, but exam held at 2001, result published at 2002). From Jan. 1st 2004, I have been working in  ICDDRB (cholera hospital at Mohakhali) as Research Officer. There is joint collaboration between Harvard Medical School, Mass Gen Hospital and ICDDRB. As part of that collaboration, I came here last Sept. as a Research Fellow of Harvard Med School using Mass Gen Hospital research facilities.
I am living in Lynn. I like to meet Bangladeshi people. Please let me know if there is any Bangladeshi program.
Best Regards.
Tarique.
